Dot Murphy is not living the life she had planned.
Married at eighteen to her first love, her life had seemed perfect until the only man she had ever loved was killed in a tragic car accident, leaving her alone to raise their two young boys.
Years later, Dot meets the one man to get under her skin emotionally and hormonally, Sebastian Boone. Boone falls hard for the auburn-haired mom and artist, but she is hesitant to do anything that will take her total focus off her boys.
Can Dot trust Boone enough to allow him to fully be part of her world? Can she love him, body and soul, and still be the mom she wants to be? Is their love strong enough to survive?

Excerpt
Dot… That bright auburn hair, worn in a simple bob, sometimes pulled back in a barrette. Those hazel eyes, the sprinkling of freckles on her nose. Damn, she was attractive as hell, and the fact that she seemed unaware of it made her even more desirable. He knew she had curves that could drive a man insane under those simple clothes she usually wore. Seeing her in jeans and that winter hat today made him want to grab her by the hand and run off to find a campfire where he could sit and hear her entire life story.

Thanks so much to Westveil Publishing for sharing my book! Dot and Boone are two of my all-time favorite characters!
Thanks for hosting!
What is your favorite thing to make/cook/bake with the honey from your bees?
Hi Nancy! Thanks for your comment. Hmmm, I love to make hard candies from the honey. I also love to use the honey as the sweetener in breads and sauces, as it gives such a nice rich flavor. My favorite use of honey is to eat it right off a spoon.
This sounds like an interesting book.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to write.
Congratulations on your release of Letting Go for Love, Kris, I enjoyed the excerpt and your book sounds like a great read for me! Good luck with your book and the blitz! Thanks for sharing it with me and have a magical holiday season!
Hi Eva! Thanks so much for your comment and support. They made my day. Wishing you a glorious holiday!
Hi Kris! Thanks for sharing an excerpt! Boone sounds soooo sweet! Be honest, will I need tissues while reading the story?
Hi! Thanks so much for your comment! Well, all I know for certain is that I needed waterproof mascara when I read the final proof before it was published…
Great excerpt and giveaway. 🙂
Thanks so much!
Dot sounds super cute! Can’t wait!
Thanks so much!
The title really draws me in..Have to read this…
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it!
What is your favorite type of item to knit?
It depends on the time of year — in the warmer weather I like to knit smaller cotton items, such as dishcloths. In the cooler weather, I love to knit warm, soft items from my alpaca/wool yarn, such as blankets, hats, and scarves. Thanks so much for asking!
In your book review it says that you enjoy gardening. Do you have a favorite vegetable, fruit , or herb that you grow in your garden?
Hi Nancy, thanks for the great question! I do have favorites – from our fruit production, I love the blueberries and blackberries we grow. From the vegetable garden, I love heirloom tomatoes and hot peppers. I also adore growing garlic.
Do you eat the blueberries and blackberries you grow fresh or do you cook or bake with most of them?
I eat an insane amount of them while I’m picking, then we freeze, bake, dehydrate, and can them as well.
The review states that you have chickens. What breeds of chickens are in your flock?
We have a wonderful flock of Arucuanas – they lay light blue or almost pink eggs, are wicked smart, and so pretty.
Arucuanas are so very pretty and I love their colorful eggs. About how many eggs do they lay each day on the average?
They each lay one egg every 36 hours, so some days we get a ton of eggs, others a few less, but overall, they are incredible producers!
I have another question about the Arucuanas in your flock. Do they lay regular grocery store size eggs or eggs that are smaller?
Once they reach full size as layers, their eggs are usually BIGGER than those in the store, and often have two yolks. They also have a richer flavor when cooking with them (like in scrambled eggs). All of our chickens free-range, so they wander where they want, and eat great things like berries, grasses, and ticks.
Pretty eggs with two yolks – what a delight! What are some of your favorite egg entrees to make with them?
The funny thing is that I don’t actually eat eggs other than in baked goods. But my family loves when I make quiche with our own vegetables and our eggs. I also love to make maple custard, using our own eggs and our maple syrup.
Do you have any favorite sweet treats that you enjoy around the holidays?
I actually mentioned one of my favorite sweets in this book. It’s Boone’s favorite as well. I love maple chocolate pecan pie, and I always make it for the holidays.
If you had a choice, would you prefer ham or turkey for a holiday meal?
I prefer turkey, but I am in the minority in my household.
Do you love the taste of peppermint candy during the holidays or it is just so-so for you? People seem to go one way or the other on that issue. I like peppermint in general but I do not eat peppermint candy canes. Merry Christmas!
I used to LOVE candy canes when I was a child, but now, I only like them in my hot chocolate. I do, however, love peppermint bark.
How many alpacas do you have? Do you take them with you on your hikes?
We are down to having just one very elderly alpaca, Ellsy. When his last alpaca buddy passed away almost three years ago, Ellsy plunged into a deep depression. Our vet felt he was too old and gentle to have a new alpaca family join him, so we instead adopted two orphaned lambs, and Ellsy is the proud daddy of his sheep girls. He went from being a very passive alpaca, to being a fierce and protective parent, who adores his sheep “daughters.”
What a smart idea! This is a sweet story – everyone likes to be needed and loved!
Does your family do anything special for Boxing Day?
When our children were young, we would spend the morning picking up from the holiday, and then go sledding and have cheese fondue for dinner. Now that our children are adults and working, I do the picking up, then we will still have our fondue tonight.
Do you have any special soups you like to make this time of year? This week I will make a navy bean and ham soup with carrots and onions with the Christmas ham bone . It is delicious, thrifty, and filling!
We do! Usually at this time of year, we frequently make leek and potato soup from our own vegetables, and then often also make French onion soup on really cold days. Like your ham and bean soup, they are so tasty, and so affordable to make.
Do you enjoy after Christmas shopping for bargains, either online or in person? Target was wiped out when I got there but another shopper and I did a little happy dance in the aisles when we learned the fully stocked shelves at Michaels were discounted to 70% off on December 26th! I am practical and don’t go crazy, but I do love getting a great deal when I shop!
Do you enjoy having holiday leftovers for later meals? I actually like those holiday extras. I refrigerate some for use that week and put more in the freezer. You can make so many entrees with good leftover ham!
We LOVE holiday leftovers! We do the same, freezing some for treats later in the winter.
Do you have any special traditions that you follow on New Year’s Eve? We usually just have a nice dinner at home.
We have a tradition of special appetizers, and lots of small dessert treats! Happy 2022!
I hope that you, your family, and all the readers here have a happy, healthy and safe 2022!
Happy 2022 to all of you – may your new year be filled with love, laughter, great food, and books!
