Excerpt
I woke up, noticing how dark the room is. Wondering what time, it is, I rolled over to look at the bedside clock. It’s close to midnight. Feeling eyes on me, I scanned the room, I noticed an outline of a man in the corner. Where Wilder sat before while he watched me sleep. It’s so dark with only a sliver of moon-light shining through the window.
“Wilder, come to bed.” I patted the space beside me.
He rises up, making his way across the room. When he comes to the foot of the bed, he stepped into the little amount of moon-light that shinned through the window. My heart rate picked up. It’s not Wilder. I have no idea who this is, standing in front of me. The fear that gripped me takes over my ability to move, think, or say something. Maybe this is just a dream, like I have had so many times before.
I pinched myself. “Ouch.” I whimpered.
Shit, this isn’t a dream. What am I going to do?
The strange man is still standing at the foot of the bed, observing me. It’s so dark in the room that I can barely make out any features. I can tell he isn’t as tall as Wilder, nor as broad. What features I can make out are dark. He smiles, looking demonic, standing with his hands in his pockets.
“Who are you? Where is Wilder?”
“Benny. My name is Benny. I’m not Wilder, but I’d be happy to join you in bed. I bet you’re one hell of a lay.”
I inched my way up to the head board, trying to put distance between us.
“You see my sweetheart, Sarah. Wilder owes me a good fuck. I think it’s time I take it.” He walked to the side of the bed, coming closer, but before he gets to me, his cell ringed. He pulled it out from his pocket, bringing it to his ear. He doesn’t say a thing, just moves his eyes back to me with his face drawn tight. He hangs it up. He finished the distance over to me, gave me a look over, then slowly came down to whispered in my ear. “I’ll be back to collect on that fuck.”
