My Review
My Rating: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Consider liking my review on Goodreads!
I was granted complimentary access to The King Who Lost His Colors as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with Goddess Fish Promotions. Thank you to all involved for affording me this opportunity. My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.
The King Who Lost His Colors is the story of a king named Daniel and his beautiful kingdom called Color Wood. Color Wood is full of, as its name suggests, forests full of lush and diverse colour palettes, embellished with flower gardens, and brought to life with beautiful birds. King Daniel and his subjects love their colourful world, but one day a 2-day storm kept everyone indoors and destroyed all of the kingdom’s colorful blossoms and foliage. Can anything cheer up the king or restore the kingdom’s natural beauty?
This is a cute story about finding beauty and good things in dark times, appreciating nature, and the healing power of time. This is a great storytime or read-along book for kids of all ages, and I think families who love nature will particularly enjoy this story. It may also be a good comfort story for kids who live in areas prone to nature-destroying storms, as it reminds us that nature persists no matter what, just on its own time.
The illustrations are beautiful and I like the different colours chosen to back the text on each spread. This book is full of autum leaf beauty!
