As an Author, what scares me most…
To write about my own life story, I must re-live my life at different times. There were several situations or scenarios that I had lived through that had scared the daylight out of me. They were tough emotional moments that I had overcome. To re-live those moments, it scares me with questions like, “do I have to go back again?”, “must I talk about my past again?”, “I have already come out of this once, do I have to go through that nonsense again?”, “I had taken treatment for putting myself together, what if I get a relapse?”, “what if I am not able to heal myself again?”, and more.
The biggest fear or scare or worry is about me going into a relapse and not coming out of it. I have healed myself once and I am brave and strong today. However, I do have my weaknesses as well. This thought really scares me the most. What if my weakness overcomes me to the extent beyond repair? Although my “what if” questions are less, however, either they are or can be overwhelming at times. This is what scares me the most.
The other part that scares me is I do not know what type of questions I would come across from people who interview me either before or after reading my book. What if those questions make me uncomfortable? What if I am not able to answer them tactfully? What if I lost it and simply blabber something that I should not? What will happen to my reputation? These are some of the questions that scares me the most.
Nevertheless, I still wrote, “I Survived” and put it out there for people to read it on Kindle or for them to order a copy on Amazon. The kind of lifestyle that I was subject to, which I have described in my book, depicts that I have mostly overcome my fears. I am now working on the next part of my book, which is scheduled to launch in the coming year, ie towards the end or latter half of 2024.

Excerpt
I remember the last time I saw her alive. She had just given birth to my baby brother on February 24, 1982. My mom had made it through the delivery but came home with a bad headache that she had been complaining about for a few days. My mother went into the bathroom and was in there too long. My oldest sister knocked at the door, but she didn’t come out. My baby brother’s dad came over and knocked at the door. Shortly after, she stumbled out of the bathroom to a nearby seat and just about fell out of the chair. The ambulance was called, and they rushed my mom to the hospital. I remember being at the hospital with my family and the doctor telling my grandmother that my mom had a brain aneurysm and her brain was dying. He said they would have to pull the plug once the brain was dead. It doesn’t seem like a conversation that you should be having in front of a child, but it happened, and a few weeks later, she was gone. An intern at the hospital pulled the plug on my mom before it was time.
